Histoire farfelue de la boldoglucine

Le boldo a été introduit en Europe en 1782. En 1874, les premières recherches réalisées par Bourgoin et Verne ont permis d’isoler la boldine. Peu de temps après, Chapoteaut a isolé un autre composé, la boldoglucine. Ces deux composés ont été étudiés de près pendant des années. En général, ils sont considérés comme les 2 principes actifs les plus importants du boldo. Même si la boldine a prouvé son action protectrice et détoxifiante sur le foie, il n’en est pas de même pour la boldoglucine.En effet, en 1956, Schindler a proposé de cesser d’utiliser le nom de « boldoglucine » car en fait, il ne s’agit pas d’un composé pur mais d’un mélange mal identifié contenant de la boldine.
Depuis, même si ce terme n’est plus utilisé dans la littérature scientifique (puisque ce composé n’existe pas), on constate de nombreux sites qui continuent à présenter la boldoglucine comme composant essentiel …
